January Transfer Window 2026

I'd be delighted if we got Brennan Johnson for £33.5m.

Still only 24, and can score goals.

Would be a very smart signing for Palace, Sunderland or us.
Just entirely too much money. He’s fine, but he’d have the same issues here as everyone else, probably moreso.
Where would he play? Can't have him out right and he wouldn't be a sole striker.
Why can’t he play on the right for us?

I'd have him right wing.

Grealish in the middle, Ndiaye left wing. Or Grealish left, Ndiaye upfront - people forget Ndiaye has played most of his games upfront, and I'd say his worst position on the right.

Diblings future is seen as central, too.

At his age, and fee - and considering the players that are attainable to us - I'd like to think the reports that Everton have made an approach are accurate. Only earlier I was saying waste of time January, but I'd have taken Johnson in the summer too.

£33m for a 24-year-old with a good benchmark - all day. We'd get that back in 2/3 seasons.
  • Johnson scored 18 goals in 51 games in all competitions for Spurs last season, contributing a further seven assists.

Grealish is best off the left so he'll be less effective as a 10. Why disjoint the side purely for Brennan Johnson?

For us, I think he'd be better in the middle - he hugged the line for Man City to stretch play, and it took a lot from his game.

For us, especially given no pace in/around him, with Mykolenko behind him - I think having him in the middle, with Dewsbury-Hall as an 8, with Ndiaye on the left, and someone like Johnson on the right would see a big improvement.

Lash decent full backs and a striker in the team and you'd have a team right in the mix for Europe.

Right wing is his least preferred position. He's been shifted there to accomodate Grealish.
Yes but while Grealish is here it'll be pointless disrupting things just to shoehorn Brennan Johnson. If this was in the summer and if Grealish wasn't staying or if Ndiaye leaves then yes Johnson would make more sense even if I don't think we should be pursuing Tottenham cast offs
