January Transfer Window 2026

maybe they see the value in signing johnson for 35 mil now

stats wise this is a player who is probably similar to semenyo who is going for almost double the amount

great value
Sorry but he's not even close to Semenyo's level otherwise Spurs wouldn't be binning him off and Bellamy wouldn't be dropping him for the legend that is Mark Harris

You cant lament that against Burnley we had our best players missing and the drop off to those who came in and then say we cant sign good players as part of a squad because they all cant get in the starting XI...
This is a unique spot though. AFCON isn’t always and without Europe we don’t have space. Dibling has barely played. Theres a manager issue of course but we can’t have two players for each spot and expect everyone will have chances.

That's a lot of money to have 2 of them on the bench mate - we're not City.

Any funds we have needs to go up front and in defense.
I agree that FBs and a striker is priority but if they want Johnson this is probably their only chance, if it is true because it might be BS.

We won't be privvy to the future of Grealish and NDiaye, as we stand here today Grealish is not our player next season.

last season stats in the prem

semenyo - played 37 games, scored 11 goals, 6 assists - 3210 minutes - 25 years old
johnson - played 33 games, scored 11 goals, 5 assists - 2179 minutes - 24 years old

He hasn't shown up to his Forest levels for them at all tbf

I think he's done better at Spurs than Forest.

First season he had 5 goals and 11 assists.

Second season;

Johnson finished as Tottenham’s top scorer last season with 18 goals in all competitions but has not been utilised as heavily under Frank, making only six starts in the Premier League.
Tottenham have several options in attack, including summer signing Mohamed Kudus, who has largely taken Johnson’s starting spot on the right flank

11 league goals too, in a team that was a bit crap and finished 17th.

There's a reason Crystal Palace are looking to make him their record signing. They know their wingers...

So why is Johnson being binned off and Semenyo is being courted by the Sportwashers and Red Scum? Maybe just maybe stats are not the be all and end all and a player may of had a purple patch but can't sustain that level

I’m concerned his production is fake like Jack Harrison’s was. A lot of guys have good numbers when the team doesn’t do anything but attack.

That's a lot more than if thought he'd managed.

The complaints I see are about him on the ball. I'd love 18 goals here.

because spurs signed a shiny kudos from west ham and benched him

this is classic spurs, they buy too many players for one position when they already have a very good player to play in that position

also the merry go around with managers doesn't help any player

Now I'm thinking about it a bit more....

How many of those have come from him playing that Salah-hang off the last defender and wait for a massive hoof to sort him a one on one that Big Ange had them playing?

We don't really play anything like that with such a high winger, he'd be back and asked to do defensive work.

I think we need someone able to carry the ball at pace more than someone hanging off the last man on the wing which is what I think he has been at Spurs.
