Worryingly, Scooter (in the top right) looks like Moshiri! Hope he's not involved!!

it’s frustrating that we have money to spend but aren’t spending it.

But I think Moyes is looking after PSR.

Yes it’d be nice to push for Europe. But realistically- before a ball was kicked this season, how many would have taken finishing 9th-14th but comfortably away from relegation. Next year would be the one to push for Europe for me.
For me that's a poor attitude mate. It's so easy to fall behind of you aren't one of the big boys these days. You need to push dlfor it whenever you can, as the opportunity won't always be there. And we don't want to be in a position where we think we're going to push and then end up losing the likes of Ndiaye and Branthwaite to European teams and have to start over. Do all you can to get in there and then amend your plans accordingly.

Conversely, if we do invest but end up finishing 9th or 10th we can look at it as progress and will hopefully have a couple of players added in Jan, ready to hit the ground running next season. But actively tossing away the chance to advance because we weren't anticipating it yet is mad.

Spending and not getting Europa plus would get us back into the PSR shitstorm we were a part of the past few seasons.

If we ended up in Conference League that may actually be worse. We need to build a capable squad slowly, upgrading the team over a number of windows. Hopefully by 26-27 we will be in a position to develop a squad capable of getting into Europe and still doing a decent job the following season.

I was thinking about him before when I was watching West Ham's defeat to Notts Forest. If it were not for Moyes, I would not think that we'd stand a chance of getting him. However, with Moyes at the helm, we could at least stand some chance of persuading him given that he and Moyes enjoyed success together both in the league and in European competition. In the unlikely event that we could land him, I would be keen to play him as a second striker to support our centre forward, in a similar role to that which he played alongside Michail Antonio during his earlier days at West Ham.

Why would you if the player or agent was to admit the plan you can imagine the stick from the fans
Well of course they wouldnt. My point is we wanted him. Didnt get him, sound familiar? "Somebody" ( not the player or the agent) started the rumor about the " he was never really available" and we all just accepted it. Just as likely the " transfer team" effed up negotiations:) That was why I used the word"spin"...

I don't think we are looking hard for a right back. Hubris personified. I hope I'm wrong. I hope we also abandon the Jake at RB experiment sooner rather than later. Harrison looks like he can play and Garner/Rohl can fit in RB.

…I don’t get why we’d put one of our first choice CMs (Garner) at RB. Surely Garner needs to play where he’s most effective. Beyond that, O’Brien is our best option although I suppose it’s worth seeing what Rohl is like there.

I do agree, it looks like Moyes has been told to make do with what he has for the rest of this season.

We gain more with Garner at RB than we lose in the midfield.

Of course if KDH and Ndiaye was available this is an easy fix. Unfortunately, we are limited in the changes we can make. But a fully fit team and Garner is best at RB for the team.

At this moment in time, Patterson needs to start tonight. No more JOB at RB.

But we all know Moyes and how predictable he is.

Reeks of a lack of ambition. There are players out there that make this team better. We have a scouting team who should have been ready to pull the trigger Jan 1.

Amazing that after the Tete deal fell apart they didn’t have a plan B.
Agree re plan B.

But also re the ambition part, of course we all want Europe, but we all realistically know that Europe will hamper us with our squad / team.

However, Europe is our best bet to keep the likes of Ndiaye past the summer.

My concern is we lose players like this, and albeit for decent money I do not have faith in the recruitment team to replace well enough to build again.

….hopefully Moyes is as predictable as you think.
