January Transfer Window 2026

Well said, I get the whole not getting relegated so no need to spend thing, but surely there’s still a chance at getting Europe that could be worth an addition to push for? Guess it’s how much they believe in the squad (also see Notts forest struggling after getting Europe, maybe a one year push isn’t worth in the long terms and we need to be building on a much longer project)
Indeed...it seems to be only about return on investment. The only European competition worthwhile is champions league which in our case would require a huge investment, a lot more than what you'll eventually get. As you mentioned, if spending a bit more ensures some kind of lower European competition, while putting in jeopardy our position in the pl, then 100% TFG would be massively cautious. They are protecting their investment from a business perspective. Roma is a different story...I think there is an emotional attachement there which isn't there with us.

I don't blame Moyes for this.

I blame the recruitment department under Angus Kinnear.

If someone can show me Moyes rejected options this window then he can have some of the blame as well but Kinnear was already eager to downplay expectations for this window in December.
Has Bobble not basically just said that Moyes preferred Patterson to Norton-Cuffy due to him having more PL experience?

Norton Cuffy obviously being the player selected by the recruitment team.

I bet George plays over Dibling though despite Dibling having more PL experience. Moyes can be a law unto himself sometimes I’ll say that much.
