January Transfer Window 2026

At least the senior management, ownership and transfer committee can have the rest of the season to decide what to do now. If we look like finishing in the bottom 6 they should be approaching a new manager in the spring and scouting/approaching players for them. If it looks like a top ten finish then they need to be a lot better at acquiring our preferred targets for Moyes.

Because Dwight McNeil is our first choice right winger until the end of the season, and he's barely League One standard. We don't score anywhere near enough goals as one side of the pitch is completely non-existant.

Don't you think that's a pretty desperate situation?

No mate. A desperate situation would be if we were trying to stay up. We definitely need a right winger but we aren’t at desperation Raheem Sterling on loan territory.

You're right but there is one problem nobody would be in the box to get on the end of it. We need attacking fullbacks who can get beyond the wingers who can then get to the byline, giving some of our players time to get into the box to get on the end of them. Please buy fullbacks Everton, Mykolenko will never be an attacking fullback and Patterson could be if he can stay fit and doesn't have Dwight" slowboat" McNeil in front, I mean inside of behind him. The amount of time Patterson had the ball in their half and Dwight was hiding inside was criminal, felt sorry for Patterson last night, he didn't deserve to be booked in my opinion.
honestly we need both. We do need a body on the wings now that Grealish is out, we can’t have McNeil anywhere near the starting XI.

But we do need fullbacks to address the dreadful imbalance in the team currently. I’m at a point where left back feels more pressing given how awful Mykolenko is (and if Moyes refuses to play aznou)

Desperate times call for desperate measures. He's crap, on massive wages but is surely still a step up from McNeil or Dibling.

If we didn't need to cover anything more than say a third of his wages, would anybody take Raheem Sterling?

As I said, desperate times.
From someone who produces constant panic induced hyperbole that it makes me concerned you're going to get a embolism one day, signing an extremely faded and overpriced player that hasn't played in 6 months isn't going to bode well for your health. Also we're tenth place only a couple points away from European spots how does that constitute as a crisis?

I never mentioned the word 'crisis'.

Even though I think Patterson has done okay, please God, a new right back!

We have the worst full back options in the league.
6 assists and 1 goal from Premier league full backs this weekened (Aina, Digne, Nunes, Mukiele, Boscagli, Walker) goal from Justin

Our only contributions from a full back this season is a goal from James Garner when he was filling in at left back, and an assist from O'Brien from a corner. Mykolenko not registered a goal or assist in 20 appearences

If we had Bogle & Justin as our full backs all season (not even shooting for the stars with those choices) we would probably have at least 5 more points this season

He shouldn't be, but he is because of Moyes.

That's the issue here. Moyes should play Dibling, could play Aznou, could play Alcaraz, could even play Patterson in an attacking role.

Moyes opts for McNeil. That first half last night should be sufficient evidence to prove that he's just not at the required level and miles off the pace. His ambling 'tracking back' as Justin bust a gut to hit the box and score last night showed where he is.

That said, I don't see any situation where Raheem Sterling is the answer.

Why is it desperate times?

We're in the top ten, not that many points off European places. We have major players coming back from international duty and injuries and young players coming into form. Why are you feeling the need to hit the panic button?
