January Transfer Window 2026

We invested so little for so long and criminally neglected the squad, that in reality it’s going to take numerous windows building layer upon layer, before we have squad that isn’t unbalanced and boom and bust. It feels as if Brighton, Brentford and Palace got instant success, really they’ve just been clever recruiters over a number of years incrementally. We took our first step in the summer.

It takes multiple windows when your so hit and miss with the signings.

Having nearly 80m worth of signings sitting on the bench wasn't how I envisaged our first proper transfer window to look like.

We needed first team ready players and a few frees/small free squad fillers.

Huge gaping holes in the 1st 11 still and if I didn't know any better, id say it looked like a Kevin Thelwell transfer window of a mish mash of unbalanced signings

had someone at a party last night saying we should be looking at Mason Greenwood as a striking option in January

I said I wouldn’t want us to sign a person like that but he seemed to think things had moved on and he thought most fans wouldn’t care anymore.

Thoughts?
Unreal player. Personally couldn’t care less about his previous troubles, nobody is perfect. He’s delivering on the pitch.

What happens when there isn’t a clear vision for what you want.

Forrest have signed really good players but they haven’t bought to fit a vision or system.

Given Moyes won’t be here hopefully after May unless he by some miracle has ended us buying a mishmash of players.

Spot on this , unfortunately

‘Previous troubles’ feels a bit of weak way of describing a bloke charged with attempted rape , assault and coercive controlling behaviour . If you’re in doubt you can always listen to the audio again
done it. Did he get found guilty of those accusations? I take it you don’t like Duncan Ferguson then and have never sang his name or praised him?

He didn’t get found guilty mate , to be fair neither did OJ . If you think Duncan’s assault is the same as what greenwood was accused us weve got very different moral values .

Greenwood wasn’t convicted but i wouldn’t be going for a pint with him not wanting him in my company and certainly not at my club . The audio on that shows who he is and he’s despicable

Already too expensive for us i am afraid...we are looking at value signing, especially for players that have no pl experience. It would cost probably more than 30 millions.
