There is no proof of this. Just because we haven't signed loads of players when they will likely have inflated fees it doesn't mean the owners don't care.Roma are their prime asset we are secondary.

And now they’re asset stripping themselves into lower league at best…Walked into a very good squad Glasner. And to be fair he delivered a trophy off the back of it.
Go get Mateta off Palace ffs. £30m you cannot get better.

He's certainly the best at missing sitters it would seem.Go get Mateta off Palace ffs. £30m you cannot get better.
I've got a feeling that Abraham is going to be a duffer at Villa. He's got a terrible injury record and, whilst he's scored goals in weaker leagues, I'm not convinced he'll get that many in the PL. At £18m he's not expensive (by modern standards) so it's worth a gamble for Villa, but it's still a gamble, imo.Tammy Abraham for £18m to Villa, that’s the sort of signing we should be making at this point, he will get us goals and link up well and then we can probably still sell him on for decent money in 2 seasons time.
They will buy 2 other strikers if Mateta joins and already have Jesus. You don't do if Wood is your key striker. Chris Wood to us then lol. Edit: he is out till Febr so yes sounds like a signing we can make lolHe's not down the pecking order if he's injured is he? They're signing someone else as a direct result of him having been out since October.
I haven't seen much of him recently so I'm not claiming to know how well he's playing in general or anything, but purely from a numbers perspective the idea that he's a great striker and guaranteed to get goals just doesn't really hold up. He's 28 and he's scored double figures at the top level twice, with the last one being in 21/22. Since then he's scored 33 in 137 games in all comps, so a bit worse than 1 in 4.I've got a feeling that Abraham is going to be a duffer at Villa. I seem to be in the minority who would sell him. He's just a back up, and not sure he is a real defensive midfielder as he can't tackle.i would not sell him regardless. Gueye can maybe play 1 more season but i think Tim should be be his long term replacement. He is a ball winner, other midfielders we have are better on creating / passing etc.

You know the way we used to get annoyed with Calvert-Lewin for continually missing chances?Go get Mateta off Palace ffs. £30m you cannot get better.
Oh yeah, he's not a great goalscorer but he's got a good all round game as a striker IMO. I'd have liked him here, think he'd suit the way we play quite well. Would you like to know which striker has statistically been the poorest finisher in the league this season?
I bet you won't need two guesses
