January Transfer Window 2026

There's no guarantee but seems a fair shout to say those types of teams are more likely to be at the top end of the table for the short forseeable future and do better in the cups and play European football than us or Palace or stay at Fulham etc. Who knows, maybe he wants to play for Emery or Howe. Maybe he doesn't even want to leave London. He isn't going to not sign for a team just because they didn't win something in the 1950s any more than he is likely to sign for us just because we did in 1980s.
But he’s not Going to Villa and Newcastle to win trophies, as it’s very unlikely. He will go there as they are good sides, play good football and probably in Europe

He's out of contract in the summer. See how low City got Guehi's fee in a similar contractual position.
Not sure it's a fair comparison. Palace were pretty open and clear they weren't going to let one of their best players walk out on a free, Fulham haven't made any such noises. Guehi's £20m fee might be 'low' but you still have to factor in the £300k a week wages and bonuses etc - and factor in he's going to a team which typically hoovers up trophies every season.

Fulham might think £15-20m now doesn't make all that much difference to them, but a very-in-form Wilson performing well every week for the last third of the season might move the needle more. Plus the player himself might not want to go anywhere now when he can maximize his options in a few months on a free, or the move he wants isn't there right now.

On a free, in his peak years, Prem proven, good quality player, homegrown, reasonable wages etc I'd expect most teams that are typically top half finishers to be interested to some extent. Question is would he rather play every week at an Everton/Brentford/Palace or would he be quite happy to be part of a squad at a Villa/Newcastle/ManU level that can typically offer European football and fair chance of competing for trophies. Not saying he'll be transfer target No1 for the very top teams but he wont be short of options.

Fair enough. I don’t think any of those teams would be interested in him. We are his level and it’ll be a club like us that he ends up at.

Make Do FC.
Always has been. I’m not 100% sure the club wants Europe. There’s many outstanding issues that have never been addressed.
Lack of pace
Lack of decent fullbacks
Lack if creativity.
Proper centre forward. Lukaku being the last one.
Our passing is not the best and it’s no coincidence that our best performances are away.

Even though the owners have put our finances at a Much better level, I have a few red flags with them as they seem more interested in Roma. They’ve never been to see us at Goodison or Hill Dickinson.

Against Sunderland in the cup yes. I'd rather give him a chance then buy a stop gap in personally
I can't see us buying a striker in this window, unless we know Barry has a guaranteed offer, which there's not been any news of as of yet (unless we've missed something)

If we know that we won't be making a Europe, I think we will see him getting a few mins under his belt towards the end of the season. Maybe the last game.

I can see him getting a loan out next season though
