January Transfer Window 2026

Man City breaking the bank again…

Honestly what is the point?

Palace finally win a trophy, good proper club who look to be pushing on and then the BIG clubs just waddle up and take all their players.

The sport is utterly worthless.

And with the 8 players we’ve already got coming back? There’s 17 games to play, it’s not “done” at all. Do you work for Angus Kinnear or something, why are you so insistent on making excuses for the football club all year round?
Just saying how it is. Even when we had our best players available we kept messing up as soon as the opportunity arose for us to push on. The only way this season can hold any interest to me is either Moyes goes or he starts blooding the young players and preparing for next season and since I know neither of these will happen I'm not going to get emotionally invested in the same old Moyes ways and the disjointed transfer strategy where Moyes wants a certain kind of player and our recruitment team another

Me: wish we had a scouting network and looked at different leagues.

Club: looks at the Turkish league

NO NOT THAT LEAGUE
It's the type of signing though, isn't it? If we signed a 20 year old prospect from Turkey, I think the forum would generally be supportive (generally not unanimously obviously!). However, signing a near 29 year old striker from the Turkish league is less unifying. I'm not sure that's what people mean when they say "scouting", tbh.

Was just taking the piss out of myself tongue In cheek mate but I can answer anway.

Loan with options are great deals for absolutely any player because sometimes, players could just hit the ground running in a new environment, he could be our Michu. Great we trigger the buy. Alternatively he could be a Tosun, we don’t buy him. No issues at all.

And the bit about scouting. I think people (myself included) want some type of data driven approach in which we sign high potential from other leagues for good value. Basically, what Brentford, Brighton and other teams can do. Our approach is players who appear on match of the day or whoever super agents offer us

I'd be shocked if we did, tbh. Loans or nothing, imo.
