I remember when we first signed Pienaar and thinking Christ this fella is going to get minced in this league,how wrong was I?

Pienaar had absolutely elite technical ability. Like Barcelona level. He'd already played over 100 games of high level mens football including in the champions league. Some small players can be incredibly hard to knock off the ball.

I think the point is that he was signed as a left back and everyone is now demanding that he plays as a left winger after 34 mins against a team which had played 86 mins. That isn’t a criticism of him but he’s got a long way to go to replace either winger, Dibling or McNeil, given that he’s a full back learning his trade in his third country in 4 years, none of which are his country of birth.
