January Transfer Window 2026

Every opportunity? Not quite. We attracted Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall who have improved us. So why can't we attract players in other areas?

I'm not saying we can't, i'm questioning the whole "Due care" outlook.

Hopefully last summer was a wake up call. But if there is a good opportunity now, why wait until the summer and possibly make that mistake again, or someone else comes knocking at their door..

Business is being done around us, so the whole 'Jan window is awful' goes out the window if you really are in need.

Say you have to pay 10mil more than you want to, but you end up moving up 3 places, you've got your money back..

If we fizzle out to a bottom half of the table, premier league side come end of season, and if we dont end up retaining Grealish, are we going to be an attractive proposition for any decent players?
Feels to me that at this very moment we have some sort of pull.
We need to show some ambition to be able to retain the likes of Ndiaye and show we’re looking to kick on.

We genuinely could achieve european football when our best players are fit and others back from AFCON, if...IF...we add playes we desperately need.
A classy right back means Garner is safely back in central midfield and Jake is where he should be (fighting for a centre back spot).
With the crap we have at both right and left back we won't achieve Eurooean football, if that im certain.
Just look at Grealish, you can tell he has zero faith in anything good coming from feeding the ball to Myko. He only trusts feeding the ball to KDH or Garner.

Maybe I'm still scarred by the scattergun Moshiri era Swartzy seeing bang average players like Schneiderlin, Gomes, Doucoure, Allan, Walcott, Alli and many more on huge wages and contributing next to nothing whilst being impossible to shift off the wage bill (granted I'm being harsh on Doucs there as he did contribute a little but not enough for the wage he was on)

Just looked at his stats, he's a big boy! 6'4" right back.
We need a stopper at right back and size means nowt unless he has the pace to back it up and can still go forward to support the right sided midfield/winger. He seems another Jake O'Brien who, in fairness, played well at RB but outside his natural central position. Sorry, but at 6'4 he comes across as cumbersome for a right back.
