One thing to add about the plan to wait for the right player, how do you convince the likes of Ndiaye,Garnered or Branthwaite ti wait around because they will have offers from far more ambitious clubs.
Writing off another 6 months and another campaign may be acceptable to some fans but players have a limit on their careers and the 3 mentioned will be looking to move on if they don't see some signs of ambition.

Yep. Not to mention these mythical perfect players that will appear in the summer will be far less likely to sign for us if we continue to bomb. Which seems possible given the full back and striker options

It doesn't even have to be a "risk", mate. Get a competent right back either on loan or a reasonable fee, the team will be much more balanced.
