January Transfer Window 2026

He means that he and the owners have an understanding that he'll manage resources wisely and that he wants what they want: a tight run ship without that much spending from now on.

Handy for him that...some might say.

Hahaha when you start scratching the surface their ambitions for this club is clear as day.

If anything a January in World Cup year is probably the best time for it as there will be players wanting to get a place in their national teams.

That’s where our scouting/recruitment department comes in…..
Exactly...they are probably already working on their excuses for the summer...difficult window and all that because no value in a world cup year etc...they are taking the fans for fools. I dont know if its incompetence, or just stubbornes in thinking that their strategy is the best and working when its clearly not....

That’s the way I see it too

It’s an investment rather than sporting ambition
Of course it is but the two come hand in hand. If you are getting European football every year, revenues rise, visibility rises and value rises.
Every year we say how rubbish the league is and how ‘this’ season is the one where we should push on.
The next 2 windows will show the ambition and the ability of the committee to develop us on the field. Off the field seems to be progressing well

Well the fans keep turning up and the people at the club still get paid regardless of mediocrity .

I’m not having a dig at the fans, far from it, their support/passion gets played on.

Let’s not forget there are people there who told certain supporters things would simply quiet down if the team got a couple of wins back in the Moshiri/Kenwright/headlock period, knowing full well the fans were right and the club was a mess.

The only plan I see is for the club to keep receiving the Premier League finance/television money. Existing.

It’s not for the fans benefits

The league is so tight this year that we’d given ourselves a decent chance of European footy, but the ‘aggressively ambitious’ owners don’t actually care about that.

Now now let’s not make any stupid panic signings in January, and wait until the summer (specifically the last 3 weeks of the window) so we can be sure to secure our long term top targets.

🙃

Maybe Bayern have some other young lads we can overpay for or Southampton have another 5 a side player they can pull our pants down for. All in late August obviously.

That was desperate tonight.

Surely last ten minutes mean it is a certainty that at least two new signings will be in for Villa game?!

The subs bench is just depressing to look at and now Patterson will be starting at least one prem game if not more.

I don’t think anyone is coming in

Either they don’t have the money, they don’t think there is value, they don’t want to give it to Moyes

I really hoped TFG would be a catalyst to change but right now i’m simply not seeing it!

The league is so close…just 2-3 extra players could have made a huge difference to our final league position!

Alas TFG seem happy to have us just midtable…yes its better than what we had! But is that all there is?
