The one at Liverpool, some clowns think we could of bought him last season, intentionally forgetting how much he cost Liverpool and what we had to spend

We were offering £20mill and punting James to them who arguably would've been worth more from a marketing POV in Portugal. They couldn't agree personal terms with James.

I mean it nicely mate, but it dowsnt matter.

We have no idea if we have lost out or not. I don't know how strong the interest was. But even if we did, losing out to people because they will pay more is not.the core problem. The core problem is we havent signed good enough players.

That's my concern. Are we buying good enough players.

And Bournemouth are in the PL, so are as much our rivals as anyone else. This football club is in a mess because we are 18th, not because of the attendances of other teams in the league.

Agree about not buying good enough players. The rest not so much. Its more about our standing in the game. Progressively further away from the top table. Due to bad decision making which puts us 18th currently. Its all linked.

At least one was a penalty, and 3/4 of them goals were in the cups v the likes of fleet wood and that non league team in the FA cup
He also took every set piece so good chance he gets the odd assist.
Any prem stats fella ? As I’m not arsed if he scores against lower league teams to pad out his stats, them goals won’t keep us up.

I’m just countering the incessant moaning, the desperation to find negatives and ignore any positives. Townsend is not even fit,he’s the least of our problems, but people like are shooting him down already

We do not need another slow, ponderous winger. Dont let a couple of long range goals delude you on what Townsend can do.

How can garner be a fall guy, he may eventually not be good enough, but he’s young and still a bit unknown. Townsend has never been good enough, that’s why he’s always been at clubs near the bottom of the league
