But when you're 'creative' players are Gordon, McNeil, Gray and Iwobi - who is creative of course but rather erratic to say the least - then you know... it's not great.

My only worry is that it's another wide player, who'll sit off the striker, rather than rectifying the glaring problem that's the lack of a regular and effective striker.

Need both but will add that Danjuma has spent as much time playing up top for Villarreal - albeit in a 2 - as he has out wide.

He wouldn't suit a lone role though.

I’m telling you what this game is vital for the forwards. Gordon and Gray need to get the ball and run at people, we saw what happened when we got the pen against Brighton, it was because of a through ball which Iwobi ran onto. That’s what we need against Southampton. Runners! Gordon especially needs to get the ball and run down the touchline, direct and at players.
