I'm afraid I disagree. What is it they say, never go back? This isn’t even a quick fix, he’s been poor and well off the pace imo.
I certainly agree that he has not been great so far, but then I think the expectations were too high for him and I think he was being asked to play a role that doesn't suit him... that is the midfielder who controls the game and sets up play rather than the player we know who is best breaking up play and then letting the ball to someone else to do the clever stuff.
I do think he will have a better second half to the season, I think he may settle better and I hope his role will change.
In Premiership terms he was signed for peanuts that allowed us to bring in Garner and Onana as well. More than anything we need a player that can create, we tried for Gibbs-White and Kudus, if we get someone like that I think we will see a much better Everton.
