Again, a little bit louder for those at the back, the transfer window lasts for 31 days and not 1.

You can even do deals before January so they are ready to go as soon as the window opens.

I can remember Rob Elstone patting himself on the back after we signed Lukaku and Gareth Barry on deadline day about a decade ago. He was acting like leaving it until the last minute and having a deadline day of chaos was some kind of strategy. It feels like the club still think that way. It’s not a strategy, it’s amateurish.

Most signings now are panic, Zaniolo is a disaster...terriblke injuries, seems to have awfull attiude, and does not exactly work hard.

Italians dont travel well abroad in footy also.

I know we joke that anyone could do a better job than these clowns, but it's actually true. Given the resources they have in hand, it wouldn't be nearly as hard as our club make it. Don't believe anyone telling you otherwise. It's unbelievable that we can't get anyone through the door. This is even worse than it was in the summer when we didn't get any capable forwards in - this is a sporting crime. Incredible that Thelwell, the board, and the entire recruiting team are allowed to just continue in their roles when they don't do the bare minimum. I'm just not sure they have any shame at all. If we survive we won't deserve it more than the clubs around us that are actually giving it a fight in the transfer window.

I'm just waiting for the obligatory story in the red echo tomorrow saying 'Everton failed in a last minute bid to get a deal for (insert decent player's name) in the final minutes of the window. Same every window, Kenwright's lapdogs putting his propaganda out there in the press. 'Well we tried lads just couldn't get it over the line'. Welcome to mediocre FC, "no standards, anything is good enough", that should be our club motto these days
