I can see why the fine scholars who run our club wanted nothing to do with a mad policy like that.

There's been plenty of 'bad players' who turned out to be very good acquisitions.

Let's put it this way: we were spending £30M per player at one stage and got ridiculoulsy bad value from most of them.
