That all sounds great until you factor in that when Koeman was brought in he was the 'pragmatic disciplined manager' that we supposedly needed which didn't work out so well.
Benitez might do well, he may not but that will ultimately be down to who we have on the pitch. Successful teams have discipline and guile. You have been banging the drum about getting rid of James and wanting to bring the likes of Rondon in. As has been put to you before, your bias in singling out James whilst choosing to for the most part ignore the shortcomings of Delph, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Tosun, and other deadwood within the squad is telling.
James was our best player last year. He did suffer from injury but then again so did Doucoure. Maybe the reason our fanbase has not been so focused upon the likes of Dacoure, for example, is that he is essentially invisible outside of playing. James, like it or not, has a global presence and is a 'brand' in his own right, and to maintain this he has to be active online. It would seem that a part of the problem that some of our fanbase has with him stems from this visibility and possibly communication breakdowns in translation. From a business perspective having him here not only has brought our new and most welcome Columbian brothers and sisters into our support but also has put us on the map for the likes of Dias in a way that Rondon, Longstaff, and McNeil never would.
