I hope he stays coz I want to see him being dead sexy and boss at goodison this year, can’t see him leaving now to be honest.
Everton are keen on 24-year-old Diaz and were prepared to pay around £20m for the winger, but the deal hinged on Rodriguez moving in the opposite direction.

And with Porto unable to come to an agreement with Rodriguez the transfer has been thrown into doubt with sources saying that AC Milan look to be the only remaining viable option for Everton's highest paid player, at this point.

The offer of a season-long loan to the San Siro would still likely leave the Blues paying the majority of the playmaker's £200,000-a-week wages and given Everton's need to reduce their player costs, it could yet restrict what business the club can do today.

Everton’s fault then really, I’ve got nothing against the lad. Better players around him and he’d boss this league. I’ve accepted its Rondon only today, maybe AMN if Arsenal stop being ridiculous. And to be honest, it’s probably better we spend no money.

Faults from past Managers & DOF imo buying players who are the wrong side of 25 years old with no sell on fee.....

If we get those two players in and James stays (and is integrated into the squad and keeps himself fit) I think we are relatively well placed. It'll be disappointing but given the P&S restrictions (and our lack of money) we'll have to stomach it.

We would however have to get our fingers out in January and add - but we know Brands is useless at that.

Exactly mate. Club have spent well over the odds for the last 5 years on utter dross. Sigurdsson, Gomes, Iwobi, Klaasen, Tosun, Walcott, Williams, Kean… that’s just off the top of my head, all of them we over paid for, and not just by a little bit in some cases. People warned we’d reap what we sow, well here we are today.

Name them ......

Off the top of my head...

Sandro
Klaassen
Iwobi
Gomes (was 25 when signed on loan)
Bernard (25)
Keane
Kean

We had to let Bernard go for a nominal fee to clear wages. Iwobi may come good, Gomes was hit by injury but can't say he's been a success since his first season. Kean we've had to kick the can down the road with Juve and was the wrong kind of player we needed at the time. Sandro, less said the better - we gave him £100k a week ffs. Klaassen, Koeman had no idea where to fit him in and we sold for £13m less than we bought him for.

Could also say we paid Mina well over what he was worth at £110k a week even though I think he's a good player.

That's going back a bit Bernard has gone as Kean will go - Michael Keane has not been a disaster .... Klaassen definitely was we took a hit on him TBH all this coincided when we appointed a DOF - only Idressa Guaye was a great deal & we sold him......plus Vilassic who West Ham have now repurchased ....

We've tried the expansive manager in Martinez

The young progressive manager in Silva

The flavour of the month manager in Koeman

The hollywood manager of Ancelotti

Its time we went back to a pragmatic disciplined manager like Moyes which Benitez is - bring in his own players to rebuild this cowardly squad of misfits.
That all sounds great until you factor in that when Koeman was brought in he was the 'pragmatic disciplined manager' that we supposedly needed which didn't work out so well.

Benitez might do well, he may not but that will ultimately be down to who we have on the pitch. Successful teams have discipline and guile. You have been banging the drum about getting rid of James and wanting to bring the likes of Rondon in. As has been put to you before, your bias in singling out James whilst choosing to for the most part ignore the shortcomings of Delph, Gomes, Sigurdsson, Tosun, and other deadwood within the squad is telling.

James was our best player last year. He did suffer from injury but then again so did Doucoure. Maybe the reason our fanbase has not been so focused upon the likes of Dacoure, for example, is that he is essentially invisible outside of playing. James, like it or not, has a global presence and is a 'brand' in his own right, and to maintain this he has to be active online. It would seem that a part of the problem that some of our fanbase has with him stems from this visibility and possibly communication breakdowns in translation. From a business perspective having him here not only has brought our new and most welcome Columbian brothers and sisters into our support but also has put us on the map for the likes of Dias in a way that Rondon, Longstaff, and McNeil never would.

What puts us on the map is playing in Europe which we won't do having players like James/Gomes/Gylfi strolling around the midfield getting the run around every week by any side with a hint of pace.

200k a week to get 10-15 minutes off the bench for half the season he's fit - great.

You said from past managers and DoFs mate. We've only had one previous DoF.

Vlasic was let go too early but at least we've got a sell on clause.

No, you are right, Rondon, McNeil, and the like are then boys to get us into Europe, and getting rid of our best player can only assist this.

And it's 500k now.

West Ham finished 6th with what world class players?

We finished 4th under Moyes with who?

At some point the penny will drop with you why we can't get a sniff of Europe with all these classy players such as Rodriguez, Siggurddson, Gomes, Benard.
