Not to even have James on the bench for a game where we might need some magic to open up a packed defence is incredibly short sighted by Benitez.

He's the only player from the squad not injured not to have made the match day squad. Other players are also not match fit, one of them, Godfrey, is actually starting.

If we win this match, and continue winning, the manager doesn't need to answer to anybody. But as soon as we stop winning and James continues to be left out of the squad, then people will rightly ask questions.

it is not LOGICAL, what you are saying is , "james or x will be match fit WHEN BENITEZ SAYS SO".. thats your argument and it is a very very flawed one, match fitness is not an opinion.

lets asume you are a player and a coach insist that you are not rdy, you train hard and get to prime ussain bolt and prime pacquiao level of fitness , then this coach says again.. you are not rdy.... how do you prove him wrong?

These would volley him up in the air after 2 minutes and he’d be counting down the seconds til he’s off the pitch. Not really a game for him I don’t think, not on last season’s evidence.

Hope so but why have you put this in the James thread? He can't sort it by bringing him on because he didn't include him in the squad.
