I kind of recall @davek calling it with James the other week. Said something along the lines of him not being able to complete a full game or not taking part in all our matches. Can't remember the exact phrasing.

He was saying James was taking games off contractually.

James has played all but 1 game. If anything, he plays when he shouldn't. Carlo pointed it out when he said that Jamed was coming back because he was 100% though he didn't believe it.

He said there is a stipulation in his contract that he needs a two week holiday every 4 games. Nail on the head :/

That ball out to Digne, that’s what people used to pay their entrance fee for. Even half fit for 60 minutes was enough for him to do enough damage to get the game beyond Fulham. Hopefully getting into a weekly routine will mean he stays fresh for our games and shakes off any of that injury if he’s still feeling it. Him, Richarlison and DCL are a world class front three.

I would actually like q different type of player to sub in for James. A pacey and energetic player to come in for him and give the team a different dynamic.

Isco also won't leave Madrid to be on the bench here as well

Considering he was straight back from playing with Colombia he looked better against Fulham than he did against Southampton or United. It was natural he tired in the second half but first half he looked like his old self. In the other two games he looked off the pace and injured. If he’s fully fit now and just needs some conditioning then that is brilliant for us going into the crucial Christmas period without any more international breaks. We’ll be relying on him and Richy to get us past United in the league cup too.

That's the million dollar question . Ideally Gordon would be that guy but that's not the case. Lamptey? Lookman? Poveda?

You know, many years ago a certain Alex Young played for Everton. He was not a 90 minute grafter, he drifted in and our of games. He generally played to devastating effect for about 15 to 20 minutes in most games and those 15 or 20 minutes won us games and were worth the admission money to watch.

James is of a similar type, supremely talented, a game winner and an entertainer. The difference was in the GV"s day the fans didn't complain that he wasn't running the channels for 90 minutes or breaking his neck to track back. They just loved watching him.do the near impossible week after week.

Let's just enjoy watching James.

Yeah. I honestly don't know what AMs or wingers are out there available. But we do need pace and energy. Badly

It reminds me of Barkley, Lukaku & Deulofeu at the stat of 2015/16. We went completely off the boil but as a 3, for a time they had it all. I dont think Ancelotti will let them go off the boil in the same way.

I also think he will strive to resolve the rest of the team, by tinkering until we find something. Whereas Martinez kept us wide open and in the end had to drop 2 of the above 3.
