In the training videos I’ve seen, it doesn’t look like he is desperate to get away, he’s getting involved. It might be me wishful thinking he will stay and he could just being professional but it would be nice to see him stay and I think he will be much better without Ancelotti pampering him.

Oh Mendes is absolutely going to try and engineer that move.
Ultimately James will be happy to go but probably happy to stay as well.
Everton just need to make the right call. Personally, i don't see, given the crap we have in our squad, how anything but having him stay would be the right call.
