He definitely will leave. Rafael has never rated him.

My guess is we could get someone like Coutinho.
He doesn't rate James, but rates Coutinho? Coutinho is literally the Mr Pibb to James' Dr Pepper. Similar but not quite as good.

Mind you he's the same fella who drove Xabi Alonso out in favour of Alberto Aquilani.

Agree on the wages.
The lad is extremely gifted but seriously needs to give his a head a good wobble. An exasperated Ancelotti making excuses that he was fatigued was being kind to him.
Then getting slapped down and shipped out of the National team just before a major tournament is quite frankly from a professional point of view an embarrassment.

Carlo had try keeping a straight face with that.

the rest of the Colombia side seems to have given him a collective GFY

seems like a bit of a diva, makes Siggy look like Rambo by comparison

That's a real stretch or mischaracterization of his situation with his NT. His beef is really with the coach rather than the side and is more from his part. Once he is fit there is little doubt he'll get called again and several teammates came out this week to try and calm the waters.

The Colombian offense has struggled this week and the prevailing opinion online is increasingly that Rueda had a bit of hubris giving James the tournament off to rest.

He is absolutely behaving petulantly, and it's annoying, but I think most fans are more concerned he may be damaging bridges with the coach now with his reaction to the situation than they are done with him.

Also - the frame on whether he stays is also different in LatAm. The narrative of potential interest from Milan starts from a speculated desire on Everton's part to get James' wages off the books if they hire Benitez, not James wanting away from Everton.

I'm not really bothered he is going. Massive wages, doesn't play enough. Obviously not really committed to the club.

Shame because he is an amazing talent. Never really seems to work out, when a player who has played at elite clubs, moves down slightly. Remember Eto, a couple of matches was totally amazing, but never keeps going.

Thought he wanted to replace him with Gareth Barry but the club pulled the plug over his age after they had sold Alonso.

Brilliant vision, brilliant passer... Too good really in this area for the rest of our team currently.

However, much too slow for the premier league. Too weak and fragile. But for the odd moment of brilliance, we largely play with 10 men defensively when he plays. It's been fun having you James, but for the good of the team, there are much better wide players out there.

There is no place for divas like that. Benitez wont tolerate the behaviour the pensioner was to lazy to eradicate!
