Just watched that video and the vision and finesse is top class. Seeing the outside of the boot passes in Royal Blue will be a joy

It’s the balls played through the middle that are eye catchers. Especially the one at the likes of 7:40. 100% any of our current midfielders get the ball there they turn around and pass back to full back.

Eto? Gascoigne? Ball?
I think so, yes. Ball was, and still is, my favourite Everton player of all time. I was fortunate enough to have watched Bally throughout his Everton career. Extremely high profile nationally but not so much worldwide.
Gazza, a total waste of prodigious talent, more famous for his troubled personal life than his undoubted football ability and Eto, high profile, yes, but higher than James. Not in my opinion.

Does Carlo not favour 4-4-2?
He does but I hope he has the sense to play the best formation for the players he has. I don’t see the sense in buying a creative player and then sticking him in a position where he can’t influence the game as much as he can. I know he has played Rodriguez on the right side of midfield before. If we get all three midfielders I would go for 4-3-3 with two holding mids. I would hope Allan and Doucoure could sort themselves out and each would drive forward with the ball or join in attacks when the opportunity presents itself.
Richy, DCL and another up front would give us goals and maybe put some fear into the opposition. The holding mids would hopefully give our back four some protection and allow the full backs the freedom to push up.
However as we all know only too well, it is the hope that kills us,

Imagine him slipping DCL through on goal every week. And then he can wait for contact with a defender and throw himself to the ground.
