Think we should be trying to sell one of McCarthy or Schneiderlin by the end of the window. No point in having both and both of them are flawed.

He's fantastic without the ball. Apart from the elite (Kante, Fernandinho etc), he's the best of the rest in this regard.

Was class last night. I’ve got no problems when he’s at that level playing without fear of injury. He’s been rushed back too quickly in the past. Hopefully Sam has judged it right this time.

The difference in a McCarthy press and a Schneiderlin press is huge. So much bite, so much enthusiasm.

In comparison the difference between their range of passing is only slightly in favour of Schneiderlin. McCarthy is who I would keep, if he has put his injuries behind him.

Does what you expect him to do in the middle of the park and probably our only player that is prepared to put himself about in that area of the pitch. Only problem is he’s just never fit enough to get a run of games.

The Irish Glaswegian defo gives us that bit of steel that we desperately need in the midfield ,but unfortunately you can't be a hardman if your made of glass !!
