a fully fit McCarthy is a proper old fashioned footy player, an Everton sort if you will.

He did do that to be fair.
I also like centre midfielders who can play football too. Well at least one of them anyway. Gana, Schneiderlin and McCarthy don't impress me as good 'footballers'.
McCarthy was effective alongside Barry for a season or two. Now Barry, he could play as well as dig in.

Ironically the only 2 players at the club who put tackles in like that are 2 of the most injured. Him and Besic.

Wow class in abundance, are you for real. Couple of really classy moments last night when he kicked the ball straight out of play under no pressure.
The guy is a dog of a footballer, fans pick out the game against Arsenal last year, his 20mins v Man Utd the other day and some said he did well last night, I didn’t see it. Basically he’s at his average best against teams who dominate possession, so all he has to do is run around throwing a few tackles in. When we play a wba or Bournemouth and it’s up to us to play football, he’s lost.

I can’t wait for the day he’s shown the door. If he’s a regular for the next few years, then we can look forward to mid table.
