He's been hit and miss, great first season, pants thereafter.
Slow stifling football damaged him I think, along with the injuries.
Showed some spark this season but I think will be surplus in the summer if not before.

He was a star when he came...absolute machine. ...he's still good...but he also can be a loose cannon imho. Move just makes sense. No hard feelings Mac

Yep. Gana and Morgan are just better at doing what he does. Not a bad player, but if he isn't going to be in front of those two, or Davies and even Barry, it's best if we got what we can for him.

From August :coffee:

Somebody will pay £20+ mil for him...going back to the highlights of his first season here, he'd be well worth it in today's market.

It's why I've been firmly in the 'sell' category for a while with him. He's really one of the few expendable pieces that would command a decent fee. I reckon the rest of the expendable talent wouldn't command much at all. Although we did manage to get £8 mil for Naisy, so who actually knows.

I would prefer that he returned to that first season form and him and Gana destroyed the league for the next couple of seasons, but I just don't see it happening with James. He's lost that extra bit he had...a change of scenery might just bring it back.
