With Gana away and Besic injured, McCarthy is a valuable squad member for the rest of the year, but given the options we have back there, I'm inclined to think we'll cash in next summer. He was excellent when he came on yesterday, but when Gueye comes back, he'll be fourth/fifth choice.

I think Koeman would happily keep him but if the lad wants first team footy and we get a good offer, he may well go.

That being said, it was only Friday that Koeman said he had no plans to sell Macca.

agree with this, his opportunities to play, even to get a spot on the bench, are going to be really limited when gueye is back.

can see this been a deadline move depending on Senegal's progress at AFCON.

A shame though as I honestly think the last few times he's played he's been brilliant. But his injuries are a worry and I'm sure he'll want first team footy.
