If McCarthy can maintain the form he has shown latterly he will undoubtedly play a big role for the rest of this season. Going forward however it's hard to see him as a starter next season ahead of Gana and Schneiderlin who are superior players to him . Add to that if Besic (who I much prefer as he offers far more offensively ) returns strongly he will struggle for game time, and that's without allowing for the continued emergence of Davies. I think he will definitely leave close season for a first team spot somewhere else.

Changed Koeman's mind. He gives us plenty of depth in case someone goes down. Stellar for the bench

Yep, like Morgan he came on and just wort about his job nicely. Sometimes it's not about players playing football, it's about stopping the opposing team playing football and the 2 of them were spot on.

Good player and still relatively young. Just needs to stay fit.

Mccarthy, Schneiderlin, Barkley, Davies, Gana, Besic(maybe?) seems like excess but somebody is always unfit and if we play Europa as said above, we’ll need a bigger squad. Means we can focus on getting strikers and defenders in rather than worrying about midfielders (presuming we don’t 4-3-2-1).
