...it doesn't appear he's a guaranteed starter for RK and the indications are he will slip further down the pecking order when more players come in. I don't mind the lad but RK clearly wants a greater dimensional play from his defensive midfielders than McCarthy has been displaying.

I'm not surprised there are plenty of suitors willing to pay for his services, he might be on borrowed time unless he delivers more.

Koeman said himself that he brought Gana to provide something the other CM's we have can't.

That something is tackling, interceptions etc - everything McCarthy is supposed to be doing, but barely does.
