James McCarthy

Koeman praised Macca yesterday Dave.

If it weren't for Davies' form I reckon he'd be starting tonight.
Tell that to his many (unfathomably many) detractors.

There are people who have taken up a ridiculous position on McCarthy...have made it their business to try and crusade for his exit. They are rebuffed 100% by the manager they place stock in.

It's amusing really.

one of your biggest complaints has been the money lashed on snides. I thought you would have been made up if we got our money back on a player who's stank the place out for much of the last two years?
Snide...McCarthy?

Sorry. No idea what you;re talking about here.

I'm personally of the opinion he'd have gone had a huge offer come in.

But we set the price high for a reason - we didn't want to sell and had no reason to.

Then you ignore ALL the words spoken on McCarthy by this manager.

No I haven't, at all.

He rates Macca. He wanted him to stay. That's why we turned down Newcastle's bid and that's why we set the price so high.

At the end of the day we've got to a position where he's our back-up option, which is fantastic. If he performs like he has done in his last few games then he'll be more than that. That can only be a good thing.
