James McCarthy

Turning down good money whilst this guy is still fit and actually capable of being sold is foolish in the extreme.

I dont have a problem with McCarthy but from a pure business point of view I agree on this, its not like we have loads of games left that might stretch the squad

Am I supposed to take the Guardian as the fount of wisdom? It says on SSN that Schneiderlin went for £24M, so what do you think of that?

Lolling about your faith in a 27 year old with no career honours as a cut above McCarthy. Youtube has a lot to answer for.

I'd much prefer the Guardian's reporting over SSN personally, but not that it matters as per the below. So what do you think of that?

Besides the point anyway - even if Schneiderlin was £25m initially and McCarthy was sold for £18m initially, I'd still think it was brilliant business.

I'm unsure where career honours come into it? As mentioned, Phil Neville won everything at club level but would you think he was better than Martial for example, who has won no more than Schneiderlin?

You mention Youtube, but let's be honest I don't need to watch Youtube videos to have an opinion on a player who was bought by United for £25m and played in 29 of their league matches last season (before you say that 29 league matches is him being a bit part player for United last season - he played more matches than Rooney and Herrera). lollol

McCarthy has been injury prone for two seasons now, and hasn't got anywhere near the form of his first season.

Again, I can't see how anyone who follows football would prefer McCarthy over Schneiderlin at the prices touted, but then I realise that Koeman could go and buy Pogba and you'd make some jarg comment about how McCarthy has won the FA Cup and Pogba hasn't :coffee:.

Eh? You were using the fact that Schneiderlin has no medals in order to challenge the statement that he's an accomplished player

Phil Neville has a bucket full of medals and yet you also don't think he's accomplished either, so the relevance of the medals is what exactly?

McCarthy has been crap since the day he signed his new deal at the start of last season btw, it's only in the last couple of appearances that we've seen a glimpse of the player he was when he first arrived, oddly that appears to have come just before the window opened. Strange that.
Bonkers isn't it. By that logic we should keep Kone over Lukaku

Everton might wish to defer any further profit on player sales to next year's accounts ( for STCC, tax etc considerations???...this year's profit is already going to be pretty massive)
