People really saying Roberto would walk straight into our team? McCarthy was easily our best player last season. Roberto is a decent player - but that's it. Yes he has potential, but he's 24 and hasn't even come remotely close to securing a first-team spot at Barca. No mean feat, granted, but Rafinha is also ahead of him in the pecking order.

People saying Roberto could be the 'No.10' - but he isn't really that type of player either. He's someone who keeps it tidy in the middle of the park more than anything else, and we've got 5 of those midfielders already...

Bang average pre Xmas and after his injury had a few 7/8 out of 10 games towards the end of the season

Barkley gets slagged to death on here but McCarthy gets a free ride
For running around a lot and making tackles
Maybe I'm a bit clueless but I haven't seen this superstar box to box midfielder we apparently have in our team

If someone offered 25mil id sell him in a heart beat

Besic long term is a better prospect

People expect more from Barkley
For running around a lot and making tackles
A superb attribute, not many players can do it for 90minutes and do it well
Maybe I'm a bit clueless but I haven't seen this superstar box to box midfielder we apparently have in our team

A good price really, personally would rather keep him, but every player has their price and 25m is not to be sniffed at by any means

Possibly, but not everybody reaches full potential, as it stands, Jamo is currently a better player at DM, at CM, I think Besic probably has better offensive capabilitys

I agree with all that and I still had McCarthy as our 2nd best player.

I mean only 11 clubs can have the best 11 players, so its no shame really.

Havent watched enough football recently to even attempt the 11.
