I loved it when we bought him and I still do. He was the one player - besides the unrealistic target of Daniele De Rossi - that I wanted us to get for our midfield. So chuffed that after almost three years of wanting us to sign him that he is showing his worth for the side week in week out.

I did at first, then I looked at him more and realised he had a little talent, I would have been happy to pick him up for around 5m and thought we overpaid a lot at 12m.

On reflection tho, its almost like he was born to play for Everton, hes everything I demand from a player, tireless, bags of talent and he gives 100% for every second hes on the pitch.

So yes, I thought he was crap.

But hes totes not.

I just wish I'd studied him on MOTD and live games before so I knew how ace he was mate.

The lid is literally perfect for us. He's Everton if I've ever seen a player like that.
