I think Ijjy and Tubey need to take a few steps back with the hate on McCarthy.
Considering people were 'concerned' that he was a Wigan player, he's done ok so far. And with Barry, who I hope we can bag on a free (pre-contract in January?), they make more than a decent fist of it.
for the type of football we are playing, he is better than Fellaini imo......that with 14 million in the bank is some business
McCarthy falls over loads and gives the ball away, turns backwards when in possession as often as possible and seemingly has banana feet under pressure.
Room for improvement defo haha! He's only young but I'm less than impressed by him. Hopefully this season will sort him out.
For some reason, I don't think we have that in the bank.
He's looking like a decent player, there's no doubt about that, but still think we overpaid for him by at least £5m.
Not his fault like, just the horrible way that football is going.
It's all relative though. Compared to 27 million for Fellaini I would say we got him cheap.
Simple question: If he was English, would he be in contention for the England squad? I think he would, ergo, 23-years-old and £13 million = good deal. He also meets the 'homegrown' criteria, I think???
