He broke his leg badly playing for this great club and was excellent for a while with Barry in the middle. I just don't get how some folk speak about our own players. He always worked his backside off for this club. A bit limited maybe yes, but no shirker.

Yeah probably mate, we've got a player we need to get off the wage bill and who is not in Silva's plans. Also, if us selling him to them meant there was something in place for Zaha, then why not just include McCarthy as part of the deal for Zaha? Unless that is on the cards like.

Good fee for him. Don't know if it has any bearing on Zaha. Hopefully does, but probably not.

Doubt there is only Palace interested though, yes hes injury prone but at £8m there will be a few clubs tempted.

I was thinking that, (with regards to including in deal).I think it looks better for everyone is its a straight buy, otherwise its more palace just taking a cast-off rather than targeting him.Also maybe have an effect on FFP since we'd get £8m for an assett.

Just think we'd say hes yours if we can agree on Zaha.
