2025/26 James Garner

You must have missed KDH ghosting past him to score… you must have also missed the recent Bournemouth game where he gives the ball away cheaply for their first goal as well (these are off the top of my head as I can’t be arsed to dive any deeper as I’ve seen this enough to know that’s just him). He has absolutely no attributes to play as a 6 or 8 in midfield but his numbers are padded out by a ridiculous amount of penalties and some free kicks every now and then. I’m happy that Utd still build their team around him and not the vastly superior Cunha (unbeaten since he’s been injured btw).
He's beating xA, just to appease the statnerd gods (4 xA compared to 7 assists). No idea what his assists come from as I don't care as much, the "research" I did into him already makes me feel dirty enough, so won't look through all 7 of his assists (apparently a GOD TIER amount judging by the hype it had?) as I cba.

Similar to you I've watched a few of their games and he's been crap as long as his team carries him out of possession in a bad way. Long may it last, it definitely adds to their problems. A friend of mine is a fan of theirs and at this point finds it funny when people walk past him in midfield as they're always a man short when getting attacked.

I’ve absolutely no idea what half of your post means but God speed good brother. God speed. He’s ridiculously overrated for whatever he is but he’s never a true midfielder in a million years because he only has half the technical skill set and none of the physicality.

United go fourth if they win tomorrow btw.

More than one way to skin a cat as they say. Bruno doing it his way is an excellent player. I’d probably agree mostly, that he leaves gaps too often and should play with more protection. But he isn’t. And I think he’s played excellent anyway.
Oh, nice, they only spent a gorillion pounds and had the rules bent/ignored for them to be bang average. If they don't win tomorrow but we win they drop below us btw, as we're going for ifs/buts/maybes.

His defensive positioning is laughable but he’s clearly not a deep midfielder. Unbeaten is very funny like drawing Wolves was a good thing.

Bruno is a rat and I hate him, he's also not a central midfielder and will never be. I'm the saying the same thing as you but using many words to create verbal diarrhoea as I do often on here really. I should learn the "why use many word when few word do trick?" approach, but it's too late I think.

Also it's 3:30 here like, cut me some slack ffs

I will do any friendly wager you’d like that United make Europe and we do not.
Of course they will - rules were bent so they sign the best possible players they can for hundreds, if we overtake them (after 38 games) they should just file for administration (which they should be in but for some reason aren't).

If they don't get some European tournament it'll be a hilarious failure.

I know this theory hasn’t taken hold in the PL still but it’s actually fine to build a team around the concept of trying to win 3-2 every week instead of 1-0. United are open because it opens opponents up too and they trust that they’ll win in those games. The players probably aren’t quite good enough for that still as far as winning the league goes, but just Mbuemo and Cunha has already been enough to show the promise in that philosophy.

The players for hundreds of millions of pounds?

Those aren't good enough to *checks notes* play Bruno out of position?

Oh well they'll just spend 300m more on midfielders and be on their way to walk the league then? Except they aren't.

There's playing suicide ball and there's trying to build-up play and failing as you can't get the ball back from physical players.

I mean if you’re stuck up on the game being unfair financially I’m afraid there isn’t going to be a lot of joy in this for you.

I was saying the players they’ve signed recently are improvements. It’s guys like Diogo Dalot and Manuel Ugarte who stink.

I think the United plan is more calculated than people realize because football is a game historically built around fear and minimizing risk which isn’t how Amorim does it.

People realise what they're doing, people also realise they've spent insane amounts on crap players in the past and have a CM who isn't a CM as a starter because Amorim is stubborn in his way and can't find a second way to play. That same way worked in Portugal because it's Portugal, but Grimsby probably have a bit to say about how great it worked, or several other of the failures.

Of course if you spend hilariously huge sums on the best players from opposing teams you'll get called up on it though, what do you expect, that everyone ignores it because Amorim is some savant? He'll be sacked in a year or so anyway when they fail to reach the CL again and the next flavour of the month will be brought in, most likely. They got Cunha and Mbuemo for more than we've spent in the last 4-5 years combined, alone - if those 2 can't get them a point or two between them then Amorim should rightly be sacked.
