2025/26 James Garner

In both games v us Jimmy was the better player
No surprise Anderson was at his worst when Dyche was managing them (both times we played them) same as how Garner got better when Moyes replaced Dyche too!

Our Jimmy has had a great season and I’d have him over Henderson all day and Wharton too but I think overall Anderson has been a shade better

I've only watched them about 5 times and haven't seen him hit the same heights as Garner, looked good for England. Would be interested to see what the stats say
Think Anderson stats are very good from what I seen a few months ago, like I’ve said talk of him
Going for 100mil. We’d be lucky to get 50 mil for garner,

Garner should be on the plane.

2 goals and 7 assists this season whilst either topping or being top 5 in the defensive midfield metrics in the premier league this season.

Rice and Anderson starting.

Garner the next cab off the rank. Plus he would be an excellent option at right back if James gets injured.

Wharton should complete the four midfielders as the Michael Carrick possession based deep lying option.

To pick Henderson and Mainoo (played a couple of good games under Carrick) is shocking.

Gibbs-White and Bowen have apparently been left out as well. Gibbs-White has 14 premier league goals and a bunch of assists. Bowen has well over double figure goal contributions.

Quansah has apparently been selected as the 2nd right back.

Answers on a postcode to explain all that.

Tuchel doesn't respect the Premier League even though England will have won 4 or 5 of the last 6 European competitions by June.

Baffling.

Got to say that Bowen for West Ham is brilliant, Bowen for England has been poor. It happens. Look at Gerrard, great for Liverpool but so so for England. Most of the Golden boys were great Club players but on the world stage just so so. Going back even further to Barnes, Le Tissier shows that there is a difference at club level and international level. That is why I laugh when club greats like Scholes, Gerrard, Lampard are classed as world class. Great club players but not world class (I suppose we all differ on opinions what a world class player is). Maradonna, Cruyff, Pele, Garrincha, Zidane, Messi, Ronaldo, Puskas, Bobby Charlton and probably a handful more were world class.

Still think Jimmy Garner should go to the world cup just because he can play in not just one position

He's been good for a very bad Everton this season. Being the best player in an awful team though is hardly a glaring endorsement to play in the world cup. Everton should have qualified for the Europa League with games to spare and it would have been a great season and he'd have been seen as the player that propelled us there. As it goes we're finishing closer to relegation than Champions League and the manager can take full responsibility for that and James missing out.
