2025/26 James Garner

No Straw man arguments, I don't need to throw stuff out to try and fight to be right, you won't ever find a post on here where I do that.
You are looking at an Individual Player who is very good and easy on the eye, but in the premiership he is still playing at Newcastle at 28.

Rice perfectly fits the Arsenal model, he is going to win the league. he might not be as easy on the eye as Bruno, but he walked in that door and instantly took them up a level.

I don't overate Rice, I don't try and say he's the worlds best. but he is better and more important to the team than he gets credit for.

I only watch the younger age England games because I want to see our young lads, I only watched the 2 senior games this week that Garner was on the pitch and then turned over.
Rice has no bearing on my football life, he just isn't overrated. Unless you are in a conversation with someone that is claiming he is the best around.
his 100m cost to Arsenal is better than any other 100m investment on a player in the the Premier league, because of what he has brought to that team..

The one player I have fought for since the start is Garner, did I overrate him/use a 'straw man' argument to back up my view on the lad ?

(These ongoing debates regarding other players/clubs should be taking place in World Football because we are derailing this lads thread, with a lad that has nothing to do with our club)
Rice is tremendous, I struggle to see any other viewpoint. Garner has been excellent this year but when we played Arsenal at home they absolutely dominated us in the middle of the park - more so than anyone else I can remember in the last couple of years - and rice was at the heart of that.

Think you are responding to wrong person, or you haven't read the conversation..

I am a bit astonished that Ndiaye is on there, class player, but struggled to find form after AFCON until the last 2-3 matches.

Weirdly I think we are so used to him that we've forgotten how good he is.

Honestly it's not normal what he does week in week out, embarrasses prem full backs for fun. Everyone is glazing Lewis Hall ATM who pocketed Yamal the other week but Ndiyae ran rings around him

Been a great player this season and can only get better!

James Garner

In one of the few areas England are well stocked in, James Garner was not even in Tuchel’s vernacular a few months ago.

One match into his England career and the German now regards the Everton metronome as his own “mini-Valverde”. Comparing Garner to one of the most in-form midfielders in Europe suggests a strong impression has been made in the past week.

The former Manchester United midfielder offers something more marquee names in the England team do not – a genuine anchor option. It remains to be seen if Tuchel desires that additional defensive protection. Should he do so, ahead of perhaps Adam Wharton, Garner could get the unexpected call.
