….Ashley Cole apparently convinced the club to buy him from his coaching England U21s, certainly a terrific acquisition. I assume Thelwell endorsed it, so good on him for agreeing.
I thought he had a really good game last night and wasn't overawed by the occasion.

Yep, but he has signalled his commitment to Everton when he could have run his contract down and left for peanuts/nothing and commanded higher wages from any clubs wanting him.
