That's insane. He's bang average in possession. Although maybe every £100m player has been awful. I dread to think what Keane, Viera, Scholes or Gerrard would be worth if you think Rice is worth £100m.

Garner is the a complete midfielder. For me it’s a no brainer he goes.
Rice and Anderson are two that should go aswell. Mainoo isn’t anywhere near as good as made out, he’s become better by RA not playing him imho.

Nah, I'm not implying anything in regards it's either Rice or Garner, One of the posters was claiming Rice is bang average in this Garner thread.
Rice is not bang average, he will be the first name on the Teamsheet along with Pickford and Kane..
I said he's the best 100m player over here, that's the price tag. Whether you think that price is right or not is a different matter. He is the best of the group that have cost that, and every team would jump at the chance to take him..

We've not had a player like Garner since Peter Reid.
Covers every blade of grass with an engine to match , very very really gives the ball away , breaks up play and tenacious in the tackle.
His control and distribution is superb.
Like Reidy not known for scoring a lot of goals but the rest of his game more than makes up for that.

I like Garner, but 12 months ago NOBODY was really talking like this about him.
We just lack technically gifted midfielders / players in this Country, and imo is why we fail to get over the line and win stuff.

I honestly think this is our best crop of CMs for 20 years lol, since the days of Lampard/Gerrard/Scholes/Carrick, and the current ones can probably play together a lot better.

That group of midfielders, only Rice gets close to playing in for any other top nation.

Its one thing to say he is a good player, but to now say he is one the best England have is a bit OTT.
