I don't recall who, but I do recall he could be a right pain in the ass at timesThere was a feller who posted on here who for years said Garner should be our RB...cant think who he was now....![]()

He is in such stupendous form at the moment that he'd probably be MOTM 9 times out of 10 irrespective of where we played him on the pitch. IMO he needs to be in centre mid, though, although I *gulp* agree with @davek that it shouldn't be in a 2. Jimmy G, Armstrong and KDH would be a great central 3 with bags of energy and some actual guile on the ball.
Where I have a mild suspicion that Dave and I will disagree, is that I think Patterson should see out the season as RB.
Maybe, haven't you been calling for him to be Rb though ?Sorry if I'm missing your point here, but is there a part of my post that you disagreed with?
I agree Patterson is terrible.Patterson is a low quality player: short of pace, positionally poor, dubious delivery and only has a gear going forward. He has to be protected at all times. That cant be right if you're chasing points in this league.
Garner at RB every time for me and make the MF work better with a different shape of team.
Of course, Moyes will have O'Brien back in from now on.![]()
I know you will live and die on your hill so it's pointless really to respond to you, so i'll keep it simple..Patterson is a low quality player: short of pace, positionally poor, dubious delivery and only has a gear going forward. I agree Patterson is terrible.
But if the answer is Garner playing out of position, making our midfield worse, then I'm not sure that's what we should do either
It absolutely has to be Garner, KDH and one of Armstrong or Timmy I in a midfield 3 from now on
Patterson isn't the standard required for a starter, but at the same time he's not been so terrible this season that him playing risks losing us games.I agree Patterson is terrible.

Look at there goal yesterday, where was the midfield, Garner would have been in the centre ready for that.
He also instructs the players around him and leads by example.
Him and KDH are 2 players on the same wavelength..
You split them up and you lose the heart in the team.
No other 2 players beat the same drum..
I Could carry on, but just think about that for a second.
Excuses Dave, our cm was lost. That's more to do with ridiculously naive tactics playing on the half way line with slow CBs against a United attack that can counter very well.
Garner is better deployed at RB, but fear not: he'll be back in CM next game and O'Brien put back at RB.![]()
I expected nothing less. What I would say, though, is we have enough midfielders to make Garner at RB and Gueye on the bench work.Patterson is a low quality player: short of pace, positionally poor, dubious delivery and only has a gear going forward. He has to be protected at all times. That cant be right if you're chasing points in this league.
