2025/26 James Garner

A lot of eyes on here said they don't see a player in him as he was following instructions to boot it upfield every 5 sec though, so your statement is a bit wrong.
How is it wrong about a player, everyone turned there noses up at him. I said from day one we have a quality player on our hands, even said he's our future.
Never back tracked on him and said that his game was being ruined by Dyche.

Ive even been put on ignore over fighting his case, thats why I get intense over this lad..

If you can find anyone else that has backed him as much as me, than be my guest..

Agreed mate. Idrissa is also a great option of the bench when legs are getting heavy.

I think it may be time.

if all 6 are fit we’ve got some really good options and combinations

hopefully they can be used for different scenarios both starting and off the bench

gana when we need to protect a lead

rohl when we need height and/or pace

armstrong when we need some composure and bite

tim when we need someone to drive us up the pitch and win the ball back

alcaraz when the game is lacking spark and we need to throw in a bite of fire and chaos

Probably myself, I've always defended him too. You've misunderstood me here (but it's okay as I can barely understand myself at times) - I'm on your side, just saying that "eye test" doesn't mean much when a majority still didn't see it.

Unless we both have special eyes 👀

Thats good to know mate, I wont ever go the stat route, as a stat doesn't take into consideration about everything else around a player, eg. Manager, tactics, style of play You’re being asked to play.

Stats give you a here and now summary which is fine if you can't see a players natural ability..

Moyes has to be given credit for letting him play his game.

Dyche tried killing his game.

I never go back to things ive said, I find it a bit cringe, but this lad ive spent years in horrible debates..

Eyes will always give you the proper answer.
If you have those eyes that is..

Yeah I didn't care much for stats, even less so under Dyche - every midfielder's stats were horrid there. He seemed to have a lot about his game and I went for that, and the fact he's young and seemed motivated to expand his game, which luckily turned out to be the case.

Hope he goes strength to strength, all we can hope for really.

You all should have listened to me from the start..

Eyes beat stats

Genuinely don’t remember it being a prevailing opinion that he was crap. There has been (and still is) debate on just how good he is, but I honestly don’t recall the majority opinion being that he shouldn’t be playing or needed selling or whatever. Personally I’d say he’s stepped up this year to a level slightly better than I might have thought he would, but not really to a massive extent.
