2025/26 James Garner

Anyone else read a reference to his contract extension in the Echo the other week that said something along the lines of 'it's performance related and the club hope he'll achieve it, but he hasn't yet'? In which case, I wonder what it's dependent on and how likely it is to be achieved in the next few weeks? Slightly worrying. Sooner we tie him down to something long term the better.

The talk is strong that the extension is done.

….i wondered at the time if Rogers had slowed and Garner virtually ran into the back of him but it was an obvious push and it’s good to see us finally get away with one.
I think we got away with one aswell. Would have been soft but wouldn't have been surprised if it was given.

There was an incident towards the end where the villa defender pushed Beto in the back in the penalty area and a foul wasn't given. Maybe a slight evening out of decisions there. Although Beto stayed on his feet so probably not quite as strong case.

Garner's agent must be rubbing his hands. Easiest deal to cut with Everton over a barrel and Garner in this form looking like a certain call up for the Crusader scum.
