he's also struggled in numerous other games against tricky wingers, Summerville had him on toast. He doesn't have the experience or the agility to compete with these players in the same way as someone like Seamus Coleman did in his heyday. He's stood in fantastically well but because of his build and natural body position he will simply never be a great RB.
As a centre half for next season though, I'm more than happy.

Doesn't get the credit he deserves for his defensive display against City. Up against one of the trickiest wingers in the league he was always going to be in for a torrid time but he stuck to his task well. The first goal, whilst scored by Doku, was over the other side of the box, the second straight through the middle, and the third was when O'Brien had been shunted inside to leave that useless lump Patterson tasked with dealing with Doku - with Doku leaving the so-called specialist fullback flailing around on the ground as he strolled past him to smash home the late equaliser.
Been a good signing on the whole.

Definitely, look forward to seeing him playing centre back consistently too, good height and pace. If Branthwaite can stay fit, they'd make a great long term pairing at the back
The sooner we get a right back, he goes in the mix for CB....we then don't need to sign a CB yet.

Yeah absolutely, we could well need another CB if it turns out Branthwaite is crocked, but I'm remaining hopeful on that one for the time being.
Think I will have a bet for him to score at anytime on Sunday. Should be around 12/1 going by previous weeks.
