It will be an unpopular suggestion. But playing your strongest two centre backs at centre back, with an average right back, compared with playing your best fit centre back right back, and two very competent centre backs that have spent years proving that when played together are a bit dicey.

People will immediately reject the thought of Patto. But it’s how the other jigsaw pieces would fit together that’s more important. JOB is great at RB when teams lump diagonals at him. But against a world class winger, he’s easily bypassed and I’d rather have him in the middle.

Think long term he’ll be a better player for his time out wide though. Gutted his goal didn’t count towards a win. It’s already been forgotten because of what came after.

Doku is a very difficult player to contain for any defender. I thought Rohl did a better job than o Brien in the one to one duals.
