2025/26 Jake O'Brien

His head absolutely falls off when he gets done for pace, you can see the life drain from his eyes and he starts making rash decisions.

Bigger issue at home is that his natural instinct is 100% of the time to turn inside and pass it backwards.

I feel sorry for the lad, he's potentially a superb CB.

As for the manager, pretty worrying double standards how he treats Jake's errors and indiscretions as opposed to Patterson's.

Square pegs in round holes is fine, yeah.

Worse than any Patterson appearance ever, and the fact he was so bad as a full back meant they have the right side all to themselves, even Mykolenko offers more.

This is why I don’t really get, for all Patterson might not be the best defender, O’Brien hasn’t been better than him (in the RB position), his defending there has been poor.

Deservedly red carded...typical cb challenge , but he is a cb after all. It seems rb are impossible to find...patto perhaps could and should he playing more. Maybe the red card tonight will change moyes mind. Saying that it seems moyes is holding some kind of grudge on patto.

He's no slouch, it was strange that he chose to foul rather than backing himself to get back and make a challenge. Maybe being played out of position for such a long spell is harming his development.
