2025/26 Jake O'Brien

Doesn't get enough plaudits. I think he's been largely unsung this season. Versatile and rarely let's us down.

Let's have it right, he wasn't going to be getting plaudits the way he was playing at right back because he was absolutely woeful. He's getting plenty of plaudits now that he's actually playing well at centre half.

Him and Branthwaite could be a real force. Jake looks like he has a lot of potential at centre back, no more wasting him at right back.

Did well to stop our chance just infront of the Brighton line with their keeper already on the ground,. stopped probably a cert Everton Goal

Even though he's been used in wrong positions I rate him. Also the shot he took was great at the end, which made sure their goalie couldn't get and Beto takes it

Kept Mitoma out of the game apart from the shot he got off first half.

Brighton's goal was down to Tarkowski being sold one of the most obvious step-overs ever telegraphed on a football pitch in the top flight - O'Brien was left defenceless after Tarkowski's error.

Put a few decent crosses into the box.

Came up with the goal scoring chance for us at the end which cancelled out his failure to get out of the way of Tarkowski's goal bound effort.

There's absolutley no way anyone could have watched what O'Brien did yesterday and thought he shouldn't have been picked for RB or had a poor game.

All true,but we've dreamt of a CB pairing of him and Branthwaite for so long yet our full back position means they are both still played out of position. Criminal.
