2025/26 Jake O'Brien

Doesn't get enough plaudits. I think he's been largely unsung this season. Versatile and rarely let's us down.

Really liking the look of this lad. Certainly gives it his all at RB but when he is at CB, man what a player. Gives attackers no room at all, great positional sense, good in the tackle, strong, and excellent in the air. Good on the ball as well, seems to have no weaknesses.

The real benefit is not mentioned there: he makes Tarkowski play 100% better too. Tarkowski is calmer and less harassed looking when O'Brien is there to share the workload of getting his head on the ball in the box and making blocks.

Its not rocket science , play O'Brien in his natural position and he looks the business.

He’s been fairly rubbish at right back this season tbh. Not his fault obviously.

Fair play to him though, looks a better CB than I thought.

Him and Branthwaite should be our first choice pairing going forward, once Branthwaite is fully fit. Both quick, both massive, O'Brien a natural right sided cb and Branthwaite a natural cb and they can both play a bit.

Can see it being more next season. Be nice to see him and Branthwaite get some game time together when he's finally back and fully fit though.
